      Friendship

BY FRANCESCA TIRADO

Friendship is,
Really good.
In life friends are really nice.
Even if you don’t share you are
   still my best friend
Need a hand?  I’ll help you with
   homework.
Do you need help?  I will help
   you.
Sharing is good if you have a
  friend.
Have a great day friend.
In real life your friend will always
     be there.
Please, be there when I need   you.

Friends forever.
Remind each other how fun it is
     to be friends.
I’ll stick to my friend like crazy            glue.
Exciting things happen, sad
things happen.
Now and then we can keep hop-
ing we can have more memor-
     ies.
Day after day our friendship
     grows.
Seasons will change and we will
     always remember each other.
Having each other makes our
     lives happier.
It will continue in my opinion.
Parties are one of my favorite
     things a friend could do.

The truth should be shared
And the lying should be kept

      Don't pick me!

   Dear Miss McAuliffe,
   Please, please, please don't
carve me into a jack-o-lantern!
PLEASE! I'm too young to die!
Plus, I'm mushy, gushy, and
instead of being orange I'm green!
Wait...if I was human, you'd be in
jail if you carved me! Why don't
pumpkins have the same rights?!
But I'm not (very loud crying) I'm,
I'm too young to die! Why does it
have to be such a cruel, cruel
world?
   Your worst and crabbiest
pumpkin,
   Natalie

Dear Miss McAuliffe,
Oh my loving teacher! You are
caring, but I must say this...Are
you out of your mind?! I am the worst pumpkin in the whole state!
Try eating dirt, that tastes better
than me. I know you're innocent
and you wouldn't hurt a fly, but
your own star pupil! I don't think
so! A snake once bit me. Trust
me, I will release my venom!
  Love,
  The deadly pumpkin,

   Dear Miss McAuliffe,
I'm not the kind of pumpkin
you want. I'm fragile and can get
homesick easily. Plus, even if you did pick me, I'd give you a splin-
ter. It wouldn't be on purpose
though. I'm growing fine wood.
Don't you have a family? Well
how would you feel if someone
picked you and took you right out
of your family? Well that's what
happens to many of us. I hope
you understand. Why don't you
pick Peter? You'll love his color!
  Love,
  Your pumpkin pal Eisa

A happy sea creature

I'm A dolphin.
When I swish my fin I leave as
   quick as a wink.
I live in a never ending sink!
I go to beluga whale concerts,
Oh how I wish I could wear con-
  verse!
People look at me when I look at
  them.
When you're a dolphin
The fun never ends!
I love Sardine Survey.
My life as a dolphin is to party!
I feel imaginative when I dive out
  of the ocean and fly,
Oh hear my cry "EIGHH"!
The warmth of the seas is so
  cozy.
The ocean is the place to be,
I am so happy to be me!

         Stars tonight

I look down below sun, rain, or
  snow
How I wish to touch sweet grass
  so far below.
People gaze up so high,
Why I must be a wonder in the
  sky.
I feel a gust of wind go by,
But I stay put, I don't fly.
I can smell fresh pine in the air,
Wild flowers add a touch here
  and there.
I hear someone say, "Star light,
  star bright",
I feel wonderful with all of my
  might.

I love to run in my wheel,
Especially then I let out a squeal!
Running is so much fun,
But sometimes I wish I could go
   out in the sun.
My wheel feels like cheap plastic.
It certainly is not so fantastic.
MMM! This food is so yummy!
Finally now it's in my tummy!
These little pellets taste so good,
I would eat them all day if I
  could!

Look down really, really deep.
Where I swim round and round.
Gliding through the water down
  deep eating plants.
There are creatures swimming all
  around my world.
Wow! What a wonderful sound I
  make.
How bright and clean it is where
  I swim all around.
I can do flips and tricks in the air.
Swimming fast all around.
SPLASH!

Great White

You see my fin in the open
   ocean,
I am always in motion.
Swimming in the sea,
Is the place for a great white to
   be.
Something I smell is not well,
I rush pass a turtle and crush his       shell.
I hear the sounds of other fish
   swimming away as a sway.
I am stronger than I think,
I will always swim and not sink.
People shouldn't worry when I
  scurry.
I'm big and strong.
In the ocean is where I belong!

Man's best friend

BY RACHEL CHYBICKI

I see things in black and white,
Even despite all of the light.
I am fuzzy as can be,
I'm soft and cuddly,      .
Look at me!
My nose is wet,
I make a good pet.
I'm man's best friend!
